Jeffrey Brimley: Los Angeles Temple Evening

Jeff Brimley

Jeff Brimley showed an interest and proficiency in drawing ever since he was able to pick up a pencil. In 1998 his father introduced him to a local artist, Greg K. Olsen, which led him to develop an interest in oil painting. Jeff worked closely with Greg Olsen for the next 5 years. Olsen encouraged Jeff to focus on children's art, and as a result, children and children’s themes are often displayed in Jeff's whimsical paintings. The Rive Gauche gallery based in Scottsdale, Arizona began to represent Jeff’s original artwork in Spring, 2007.

In 2008, Jeff was approached by a brother in his ward to do a painting that he could give his wife, of the Salt Lake Temple at Christmas. This first temple commission led to more. Two of his temple paintings now hang in the Young Women room of his ward building. After seeing images of these two paintings, the gallery requested he do a series of paintings for them. Jeff has since made prints of all his paintings available online and enjoys hearing from people all over the world who view his work.

Jeff currently resides in Utah with his wife and cat.
